Sustainable Orchard Practices – Cindy Krepky

The Snohomish County Fruit Society is pleased to announce that Cindy Krepky of Dog Mountain Farm in Carnation will speak about sustainable orchard practices at our meeting on June 14, 2011. The meeting starts at 7 pm and is at the Snohomish Library (311 Maple Avenue in Snohomish, WA 98290) in the multipurpose room at 7 pm. Cindy will discuss their sustainable family farm and sustainable orchard management practices including: disease and pest control, pollination, and the best varieties of fruit for this area.
Cindy is the owner of Dog Mountain Farm, which runs a small CSA program; produces 250 varieties of vegetables/fruits/herbs; & raises livestock. She established a non-profit School of the Lost Arts, is a founding member of the Sno-Valley Tilth & Slow Food Sno-Valley, an advisory board member for the agricultural programs at Cedarcrest High School, & a participant in the Snoqualmie Valley agricultural community. She has a BS in Botany, Masters in Public Administration, and Executive MBA from the University of Washington.
