SCFS Meeting, “Pest Management” with Dave Pehling of WSU Snohomish County Extension, Thursday, April 11, 2013, @ 7 pm

Got pests in your orchard or home fruit garden?  Come & hear Dave Pehling, of Washington State University (WSU) Extension, Snohomish County speak about pest management.  Dave will speak on apple maggot, spotted wing drosophila, codling moth, voles, rabbits, and brown marmorated stink bug (time permitting).

The meeting starts at 7pm onThursday, April 11, 2013 at the Snohomish Library at 311 Maple Ave, Snohomish, in the multipurpose room. The meeting is open to the public. For more information call (425) 398-5544.

Dave Pehling has been studying & teaching about insects for WSU Extension in Snohomish County since 1978. Dave is trained as a zoologist, but has varied interests including: insect pest management, arthropod parasites (especially mosquitoes), & pollinators. In addition to entomological work, Dave teaches vertebrate pest management for the WSU Master Gardener and Livestock Advisor programs in several western Washington Counties and is webmaster of the WSU Extension Snohomish County website and “WSU Gardening in Western Washington”.
