SCFS Meeting, “Basic Food Preservation” with Stephanie Hagarty, Master Food Preserver , Thursday, June 13, 2013 @ 7 pm at the Boys and Girls Club in Snohomish

What to do with all that fruit?  Come hear the basics of food preservation, including an overview of freezer jam, water bath canning, freezing fruit, and drying fruit.

Stephanie has been a Master Food Preserver since 1988, and is certified by Snohomish County Cooperative Extension, Skagit County Cooperative Extension and the University of Georgia. She has taught classes on water bath canning, pressure canning, freezing and drying foods. She is very active with many fairs in Western Washington, including Clark County, San Juan County and the Washington State Fair where she Judges food preservation and baked goods. She has been the open class Superintendent of Food Preservation at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe since 1990.
