SCFS Meeting, “Fresh Fruit Storage: A Reason To Do What You Do” with Randy Lee, Nov 14, 2013 @ 7pm

The fruit is harvested, so now what do you do?  Come learn about “Fresh Fruit Storage: A Reason To Do What You Do” from Randy Lee on November 14, 2013 at the next meeting of the Snohomish County Fruit Society.  Randy will briefly cover harvest & fruit maturity, managing the ripening process, storage, freezing, and dehydrating.   The meeting starts at 7 pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish, 402 2nd St, Snohomish, WA 98290.  A brief business meeting will precede the presenter.

Randy Lee has a degree in Plant Physiology from the University of Idaho, specializing in deciduous fruit tree and postharvest physiology.  He spent a number of years as a private researcher for the largest fruit grower/packer/shipper in Washington State.  He retired in 2010 after spending several years with Boeing’s Sea Launch Program.  He now spends his time fishing, shooting, volunteering (SCFS Board member & Snohomish County Master Gardener Program), and being a Dad and Grand-dad.
