Cider, it’s not just sweet anymore! Join us on October 8th as Dr. Carol Miles provides an introduction to the qualities that make cider apples desirable, introduces some popular varieties for making cider, and provides an overview of their research program. The meeting starts at 7 pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish, 402 2nd St, Snohomish, WA 98290. A brief business meeting will precede the presentation.
Dr. Carol Miles is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture at Washington State University, and is the Horticulture Specialist located at the WSU Mount Vernon Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center. She is the program leader for cider apple research since 2009 and her work focuses on cider apple juice analysis and mechanical harvest. Carol has her Ph.D. in vegetable crops from Cornell University.
